In partnership with Europe Évènements, Chronix designed and installed an LED light tunnel within the grounds of the Abbaye de l'Épau. The brief: a night-time trail that enhances the medieval stone without overwhelming it, that guides visitors without scattering them, and that can be taken down without leaving a trace once the event is over.
Our contribution: scenographic design, production of the modules in our workshop (Saint-Quentin, France) with our partner craftspeople, on-site installation, programming of the lighting sequences, operation for the duration of the event, complete dismantling and storage ready for reuse.
Christmas markets, end-of-year festivities, illuminations for shopping streets. Bespoke design, or a mix with the stock you already own. Installation, operation, dismantling and storage ready for the following year. Typical case: Mairie de Levallois-Perret.
Theme park, abbey, château, botanical garden, night-time tourist trail. An approach that respects the place — cool or warm light depending on its character, no invasive fixings. Typical case: Abbaye de l'Épau.
Inauguration, festival, trade show, brand event. Short format (1 to 4 weeks), fast installation, careful dismantling. Can be combined with lighting scenography, video mapping and a sound and light show on the same site.
Municipalities, communities of communes, urban agglomerations, joint authorities, départements. Our entry threshold varies: we have worked with a municipality of a few thousand inhabitants (Le Pays des Sources) as well as with the town of Levallois-Perret in the Paris region. Size is not what matters — the ambition of the project is.
Depending on the amount and the procedure, we respond to formal calls for tenders or work through negotiated contracts. We are registered on the official public procurement platforms and regularly monitor tenders matching our core business. Both. For a one-off illumination (a single event, a town anniversary), hiring is more rational. For a recurring annual illumination (Christmas, local festivities), buying the equipment outright can make sense — you own the stock, and we remain your installation and maintenance provider from one year to the next. We adapt the quote to your choice.
Very little. Our LED modules consume in the order of 10 to 50 times less than an equivalent incandescent installation. On long municipal projects (5 to 8 weeks), we systematically propose timed scenarios (switching off from midnight to 5am, for example) to reduce the footprint further. On request, we provide an energy assessment of the installation.
For delivery at the end of November or the beginning of December, the order should ideally be confirmed in June or July. Our modules are built in our own workshop alongside our partner craftspeople, so lead times follow our production planning rather than external supply chains. A late order (September) is still possible using existing modules; for brand-new bespoke pieces, it is riskier.
