Sound design & immersive audio

Sound is 70%of the show

We are deeply convinced of it: sound plays a leading role in conveying emotion. That is why high-quality music, exceptional voices and a properly balanced mix are absolutely essential to the success of your projects.

We work with a recognised music catalogue and with established composer-artists who produce work of the highest quality. We spend at least 30% of a project's time working on sound.

We also handle live sound reinforcement whenever there are musicians, singers or actors involved, and we work extensively on the stage design around the constraints of live capture.

Our sound expertise

From concept to sonic identity.

The quality of the soundtrack is essential to stirring emotion and deepening the audience's immersion. It is like an outstretched hand inviting us into a world and letting its story carry us along.

Music research

Drawing on a wide musical culture, we always carry out extensive soundtrack research in order to find the exact rhythm we are looking for in a show.

Sound design

Creating sonic effects and textures: sound effects, textures and atmospheres composed to measure to underline every action, every effect and every transition in the show.

Voice-over & narration

Carefully crafted voice-overs and artistic direction: the narration that carries your story, recorded and edited to demanding standards.

The actors we work with regularly take part in the writing, so they can make the text their own and heighten the realism.

Quality diffusion

An acoustic study is always carried out, indoors as well as outdoors, mainly using L-Acoustics tools.

Where the subject allows or calls for it, we work in immersive formats (four diffusion points, for example).

Live sound & control

A high-end control system to mic up actors and musicians and to control the sound in real time.

How it works

Sound, in 4 steps

01

Brief & intention

We define the sonic world and the emotion we are aiming for, based on the script and on the constraints of the venue.

02

Diffusion study

We start with the sound diffusion study, so we know how we will need to record (distant miking, close miking) and mix (mono, stereo, quadraphonic).

03

Creation, recording, mixing

Music selection, sound design and voice-over: we tie the sound to the script and build the sonic fabric of the show.

04

Control & operation

Once the technical equipment is rigged, we take one to two hours to fine-tune the show mix from the multitrack, so that the sensations are as close as possible to those of the studio.

A FEW EXAMPLES

Guaranteed sound quality.

Sound design · shows & events

One trail, one immersion.

In "La Maison du Frisson", several immersive rooms are fitted with indoor or outdoor sets and sound-equipped scenography; the idea being that what you hear should match what you see. And in the Halloween world in particular, we also try to make you see what you hear!

In the photo, the mix is being adjusted inside the set of the final scene, during the construction of the sets. The sound system runs on 6 channels (2 for outside, 2 for the inside of the house, 1 for the ghost's voice, and one sub channel).
